PM Hun Sen Recalls Life 30 Years Ago

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has posted pictures on Friday night describing his life with his family 30 years ago. He says, “More than 30 years ago, my family had only seven members. We live to take care of our little ones at a time when so many national affairs require us to do so. Remembering the hardships of the past makes me work harder to maintain peace and promote development for the well-being and prosperity of our poor nation and the people."

The vast majority of Cambodians are aware and understand the tragic story of the Cambodian people who went through the Khmer Rouge regime for more than three years - suffering from the flames of war, tears, killings, destructions and evacuations from their homesand forced to work like animals.

During the "killing fields", more than 30 years ago, Cambodians died without medicine, without adequate food, without freedom, without democracy, and even without the fundamental right to life.
